Uttar Pradesh: An underwater Indian Oil Corporation pipeline burst in the middle of the Yamuna River in the Baghpat district of Uttar Pradesh. The video of the incident is going viral on the internet.
Officers informed me that there was a flaw in the pipeline, which is why the leakage was spotted in Jogos village in the Baghpat district.
According to the IOC officials, the valves in both the upstream and downstream locations have been successfully closed, bringing the situation under control.
Locals recorded a video of the incident, which was later shared by multiple Twitter users at 3 am on Wednesday. In response to the incident, a specialized team has been dispatched to carry out the necessary repairs on the underwater pipeline.

Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Subhash Singh said, “The villagers saw the eruption in the water and informed us. We reached the spot along with the police and fire brigade personnel. The situation was brought under control by 7.45 am.”
As per information available on the IOC website, the DPPL (132-kilometre-long Dahej–Panipat Pipeline) was established in 2010 and is linked with GAIL’s Hazira-Vijaipur-Jagdishpur Pipeline (HVJPL).
The primary purpose of DPPL is to transport natural gas from the HVJPL network to IOC’s Panipat Refinery and Panipat Naphtha Cracker Plant. Additionally, it serves other customers located in Uttar Pradesh and Haryana. The DPPL is officially authorized under regulation 17(1) of the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board Regulations, 2008.
