Authorities said that they had taken notice of the video and that it is being analysed to determine the necessary data. A few people are seen in the video playing holi with a foreign female who seemed ‘uncomfortable’ with their conduct.

According to them, the girl tweeted from her Twitter profile that she had arrived in Bangladesh and was fit in her mind and physically.

Authorities said that the ACP of Paharganj and the SHO of Paharganj have also been ordered to collect information on Japanese foreigners resident in the region and to identify the boys seen in the video using beat/division officers and local intelligence.

“From the surface, it appears like the video refers to Paharganj based on the landmark shown in the video; however, it is being checked on the ground whether any such occurrence occurred in that location or the video is old,” officials added.

PS Paharganj has received no complaint or call regarding any type of misbehaviour with a foreigner. According to them, an e-mail was made to the Japanese embassy requesting assistance in determining the identify of the girl and any other details regarding the occurrence.

According to police, the youths featured in the video were identified after thorough efforts by field officers and local intelligence.

“Three boys, including one minor, were detained and questioned. They have confessed/acknowledged the incident/happening depicted in the video. “They are all inhabitants of the adjoining region of Pahar Ganj and went there to celebrate Holi,” the officer stated.

According to the police, action has been taken against them under the Delhi Police Act. “But, any future legal action will be decided on the merits and in accordance with the girl’s complaint, if any,” they said.
