New Delhi: Indian Railway is planning to launch ‘Vande Bharat 2’, an upgraded version of Vande Bharat trains from September 30. Notably, the new Vande Bharat trains will provide better railway facilities to the passengers. According to the announcement of the Ministry of Railways, the upgraded version of the high-speed train will be equipped with better features as compared to previous version.

The new Vande Bharat train is expected to run from September 30, if things proceed according to plan. Giving this information, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said, “The train has got CRS approval. Now the train is completely ready to run. It is expected that the train can be flagged off from Ahmedabad on 30 September.”

New Features

The new Vande Bharat trains will have better speed, reduce their weight. It will also include a 32-inch LCD TV which can be connected through an on-demand Wi-Fi. The train will also be equipped with a catalytic ultraviolet air purification system.

Technological Changes

Indian Railways said that many technical changes have been made in the new Vande Bharat trains. In the present trains only the rear part of the seat can be moved. However, in the new train the entire seat can be shifted as per the convenience of the passengers. In addition, Indian Railways is planning to start 75 Vande Bharat trains on track before August 15, 2023.
