Rahul Gandhi leads Bharat Jodo Yatra in Alwar; Big announcement for Rajasthan

New Delhi: The Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday resumed the party’s grand rally ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ from Burja village that will halt at Beejwa area in Alwar district of Rajasthan in the evening.

The ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ entered Congress-ruled Rajasthan on December 4 after finishing the Madhya Pradesh leg.

Cutting Down LPG Cylinder Prices

A day earlier, Rahul Gandhi accompanied Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot during a public address. In the rally, Ashok Gehlot made a significant annoucement of cuting the prices of gas cylinder by almost half of the price.

The Chief Minister said from April 1, 2023, people under the BPL and Ujjwala schemes will get gas cylinders for Rs 500 each.

“People who are below the poverty line or are linked to the Ujjwala Yojana will be studied, and starting April 1, they will receive 12 cylinders per year at Rs 500 each, instead of the current price of Rs 1040,” Gehlot said.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi led the yatra through Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and now, Rajasthan. During this journery, the footmarch has covered almost 2,800 kms, interacting with locals, farmers, activists, actors and lawmakers.

“Bharat Jodo Yatra’s biggest achievement is that issues of the common people of the country have been highlighted through it,” the news agency PTI quoted Congress leader KC Venugopal.

He further said, “The Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) attempt of demolishing his (Gandhi’s) image has also been destroyed by us.”
