New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi Tuesday accepted the notice regarding the cancellation of accomodation alloted to him at 12 Tughlak Lane in the national capital.

“As an elected Member of Lok Sabha over last 4 terms, it is the mandate of the people to which I owe the happy memories of my time spent here,” said Rahul Gandhi in the letter written writes to Deputy Secretary, MS Branch, Lok Sabha Secretariat.

“Without prejudice to my rights, I will, of course, abide by the details contained in your letter,” he added.

After the disqualification of Rahul Gandhi as the Lok Sabha member, he was given a notice to vacate the official bungalow on Monday. Gandhi has been living in the residence since 2014. Gandhi has been asked to vacate the place by April 22.

Rahul Gandhi was dismissed from the Parliament following his conviction in a 2019 defamation case. On April 13, 2019, Gandhi had said that, “Why all the thieves, be it Nirav Modi, Lalit Modi or Narendra Modi, have Modi in their names?”
