Punjab: Border Security Force (BSF) has recovered one packet suspected to be heroin, weighing around 2.6 kg, in the Fazilka district of Punjab. The consignment is dropped by a Pakistani drone and one civilian is apprehended in this regard, officials said on Thursday.
According to the BSF Punjab Frontier, the troops, on the intervening night of December 14 and 15, recovered one packet suspected to be of heroin near village Barike.
“On the intervening night of 14/15 Dec 2022, vigilant BSF tps @BSF_Punjab Ftr intercepted consignment dropped by a Pakistani drone in Distt Fazilka. During search, BSF recovered 1pkt suspected to be #Heroin (appx 2.650kg) from Indian territory near Village- Barike, Distt- Fazilka,” BSF Punjab Frontier said in a tweet.

“One civilian is also apprehended in this regard,” it added.
The search of the area is in progress.
BSF seizes 7.5 kg of heroine
Earlier this month, BSF seized 7.5 kg of heroin dropped by a Pakistani drone and a pistol, among other items in Fazilka district.
After hearing the sound of drones entering Indian territory near Churiwala Chusti village which is 13 km from Fazilka, the security force spokesperson said that they fired in the direction of the drone, which went back to Pakistan.
During the search, 7.5 kg of heroin was found in 3 packets, a pistol, two magazines and 50 cartridges of 9 mm pistol were recovered.
