New Delhi: The central government on Saturday, in a notification, said that a total of eight members would be part of the committee of One Nation, One Election. The committee was formed under the chairmanship of former President Ram Nath Kovind.

The name of the chairman was announced earlier, and former President Ram Nath Kovind will head the committee. The other members of the committee are Home Minister Amit Shah, Congress leader in Lok Sabha Adhir Ranjan Choudhary, former Jammu and Kashmir CM Ghulam Nabi Azad, former Finance Commission Chairman NK Singh, Subhash Singh Kashyap, Harish Salve and Sanjay Kothari.

The name of the committee will be called High-Level Committee (HLC). Niten Chandra, Secretary, of the Laws and Justice Department, will be the secretary of the HLC. 

Union Justice Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal will be present in the committee meeting.
