Nuclear Power Plant: The very first nuclear power plant of North India will be set up in Haryana’s Gorakhpur village in Fatehabad district. Union Minister for Science and technology Jitendra Singh has announced this on saturday in New Delhi.
Union Minister said, ” To install a nuclear plant in North India is One of the major ambitions of PM Modi regime, earlier nuclear based power plants were onl;y conferred to South Indian states like tamilNadu, Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra in the west.”

Jitendra Singh has said that In the last eight years many decisions have been taken to increase the nuclear power capacity of the nation. In the supervision of Prime minister Modi, government have given approval for installation of 10 nuclear reactors, Minister said
Gorakhpur Haryana Anu Vidyut Pariyojna (GHAVP) will have two units of 700 MWe capacity. The pressurised heavy water reactors for both plants are being designed in india. The plant will be set-up in Gorakhpur Village of Fatehpur district, Haryana. The centre has allocated 20,594 crore to which 4,906 crore has been spent so far.
According to the press release of the Atomic department, The construction of work is going at a good pace and manufacturing of other equipment is in various stages, The Plant would ready within expected time.
