M-passport App: To bring ease and quickness in issuing new passports, the External Affair Ministry has launched ‘M-passport Police App. On the occasion of ‘Force establishment day’ on Friday Union Home minister Amit Shah distributed 350 mobile tablets to Delhi Police special branch personnel.

It will reduce verification process from 15 to 5 days

According to Delhi’s regional passport officer Abhishek Dubey,This tablet based verification process would reduce the tenure of verification to merely 5 days, usually Police verification takes 15 days. The new process will bring down the whole passport issuing tenure by 10 days.

“Digital verification will be more quick” says Amit Shah

Home Minister Amit Shah said, ” To bring quickness in the Police verification process for issuing passports, A mobile App has been launched.This will reduce the time and bring transparency in the verification process. “This initiative is a step toward PM Modi’s smart policing mission” he added.
