The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested a former convict with links to the terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) in connection with the recent blast at the Rameshwaram Cafe in Bengaluru. The arrest comes as part of a nationwide investigation launched by the NIA after the March 1st attack.
The identity of the arrested individual has not been officially disclosed, but sources close to the investigation reveal he was previously convicted in a 2012 LeT terror conspiracy case registered in Karnataka. He was apprehended while transiting through Telangana and is being brought to Karnataka for further questioning.
This arrest signifies a potential breakthrough in the investigation. NIA officials have been scrutinizing the activities of past terror suspects and convicts to identify possible connections to the cafe bombing. The ex-convict’s apprehension suggests investigators might be piecing together a network involved in the attack.

The Bengaluru cafe blast remains unsolved. The main accused, Mussavir Shazib Hussain, who was allegedly caught on CCTV footage, is still at large. Another suspect, Abdul Matheen Ahmed Taaha, believed to have assisted Hussain, is also on the NIA’s radar.
This recent arrest offers a glimmer of hope for nabbing those responsible for the cafe blast. With the investigation intensifying, further arrests and crucial information regarding the attack’s motive and perpetrators are anticipated in the coming days.
