New Delhi: After the shocking incident that emerged from Manipur in which two women belonging to the Kuki community were forced to parade naked on the streets. They were surrounded by a huge crowd of men apparently belonging to the Meitei community.

Owing to the horrific incident that sent chills up the spine of everyone who watched the video. People have blatantly condemned the gory incident that has rattled the entire nation.

Meanwhile, the leaders of Opposition are also demanding that the Monsoon session of the Parliament should prioritize discussion on violence that has grappled Manipur.

Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge said, “Today we will bring up the issue of Manipur (in Parliament). We (Congress), along with other parties, have given a notice and we’ll see if the Chairman will let us discuss this issue.”

Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Priyanka Chaturvedi said, “There is no curb on the ethnicity-based violence in Manipur. We will raise this issue (in the Parliament). This is a shameful and disturbing issue. Being a woman leader, we will raise this issue and become the voice of women of Manipur who are being suppressed.”

Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) MP Manoj Jha said, “I’ve given a notice under Rule 267 over this issue (of Manipur violence). The Chairman also must have seen the visuals, he also must have seen Manipur burning over the last 2.5 months. If the issue is not discussed in the Parliament, then what’s the use of having a Parliament?”

Meanwhile, AAP MP Sanjay Singh condemning the incident said “Manipur is burning. We will seek answers about this in the Parliament.”

Congress MP Ranjeet Ranjan said, “We have given adjournment motion. We want a discussion on (Manipur) violence. We want to see if BJP’s women ministers will speak on this (incident of parading of two women naked in Manipur).”

AAP MP Raghav Chadha said, “The incident of Manipur (video of two women being paraded naked) puts humanity to shame. What is happening in Manipur and why is the central government keeping mum on this?”
