Mumbai: A man has been arrested for allegedly breaching the security of Union home minister Amit Shah during his visit to Mumbai.
The accused has been identified as Hemant Pawar, a 32-year-old from Maharashtra’s Dhule. He had aquired a ribbon of the ministry of home affairs (MHA) and claimed to be the personal assistant (PA) of an MP from Andhra Pradesh.
He was seen around Amit Shah and other leading politicians for hours at Sagar bungalow – the official residence of Maharashtra deputy chief minister Devendra Fadnavis at Mumbai’s Malabar Hill.

Booked under IPC Section 170
The accused has been booked under IPC Section 170 (whoever pretends to hold any particular office as a public servant, knowing that he does not hold such office or falsely personifies any other person holding such office) and was remanded to five days of police custody by the Girgaum court.
The incident took place on Monday during Amit Shah’s two-day tour of Mumbai.
