Maharashtra: 1 Dead, More Casualties Feared After Blast In Chemical Factory At Jalgaon

An explosion at a chemical factory in Maharashtra’s Jalgaon caused at least 17 injuries and one death, with fears of more casualties as some people remain trapped inside. In a separate incident, three workers were injured in a firecracker factory explosion in Madhya Pradesh. Earlier this month, a Telangana chemical plant explosion led to four deaths and 16 injuries.

Maharashtra: 1 Dead, More Fatalities Feared After Blast In Factory

Maharashtra: At least 17 injures and one dead after the major explosion at a chemical factory in Maharashtra’s Jalgaon. The explosion caused the entire factory to catch fire. There may be additional casualties as some people are reportedly still trapped inside the factory, according to the officials on Wednesday.

In a related incident, an explosion at a firecracker factory in a forest area of Madhya Pradesh’s Indore district on Tuesday afternoon left three workers with burn injuries. According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Umakant Choudhary, the explosion occurred while the workers were making ‘sutli’ bombs in a shed-like structure at the factory, located about 5 km from Amba Chandan village.

Earlier this month, a chemical factory in Telangana’s Sangareddy experienced an explosion and fire, leading to four deaths and 16 injuries. The factory is situated around 40 km from Hyderabad International Airport. Officials confirmed that the fire, which spread throughout the factory’s premises, was eventually brought under control. Among the deceased were the director of the pharmaceutical company and three workers, according to police.

A senior police official reported that the explosion at the pharmaceutical company threw people nearby away due to the impact, resulting in four deaths so far and injuries to 10-15 people. Those injured were transported to a hospital for treatment.
