Bhopal: Ahead of the assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh, Shivraj Singh Chauhan announced to increase reservation quota for women in government jobs in the state.

Under new rule, female employees will get 35 percent reservation. This comes at a time when discussions are on regarding the Women Reservation Bill, 2023. The Bill has become a law after President Droupadi Murmu gave it a green signal. The now-become law will reserve 33 percent of the seats in the directly elected Lok Sabha and state legislative assemblies for women.

The significant announcement came on Women’s Day. The General Administration Department also issued a notification regarding this. Until now, women were getting 33 percent reservation in the state which has been increased up to 35 percent in direct recruitment posts.

Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections are likely to take place in the month of November and December. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which has been in power for almost two decades, is worried about the anti-incumbency factor.

The ruling government has made several announcements for public welfare. The saffron party is putting all efforts to retain power in the Hindi heartland.

It is worthy to note that there are a total of 2 crore 62 lakh women voters in the state i.e. their share in the total voters is 49 percent. Before reservation, Shivraj Singh Chauhan started ‘Laadli Brahmin’ scheme through which money is deposited in his account every month.

It started with Rs 1,000 and is being increased. Shivraj Singh Chouhan has promised to take it to Rs 3000 per month.

As reported earlier, the PEACS Media News24 Opinion Poll Survey revealed that Shivraj Singh Chouhan is the most popular leader in the state, following him there is his predecessor Kamal Nath.
