In West Bengal’s Cooch Behar Lok Sabha constituency, a BJP booth president was allegedly attacked ahead of the first phase of elections on April 19. Lab Sarkar, president of booth number 63 at Bairati A.P. School, was reportedly attacked by ruling Trinamool Congress workers, according to the BJP’s complaint to the Cooch Behar Police. The police are investigating the incident to identify the attackers.

After voting in the Lok Sabha elections, Congress leader P Chidambaram expressed satisfaction and pride in having cast his vote. He stated his confidence that the INDIA group would win all 39 parliamentary seats in Tamil Nadu. Chidambaram highlighted that today marks the first phase of elections, with a total of seven phases, and expressed optimism that the INDIA group would secure victory in all seats in Tamil Nadu.
