77th independence day 2023: 77th Independence Day is being celebrated across the country, including Delhi-NCR on Tuesday. Huge enthusiasm is being seen among the people since morning. Very beautiful and encouraging pictures are coming out from all over the country. People are also congratulating each other on social media. Independence is being celebrated with pomp in schools, establishments and societies-colonies as well.

Highlights from PM Address

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in his speech that the government is working to fulfill the dream of every rank and file of the country. Everyone will have his own house soon. Work will be done on bringing a new housing scheme.

Low inflation as compared to world

The PM has said that the inflation rate in India is less as compared to the world and several steps have been taken to curb inflation and the effort is continued. He also said that India would become the third-largest economy in the world in the coming five years.

Vishwakarma scheme coming next month

He informed that the government will launch the Vishwakarma scheme next month with an allocation of Rs 13,000 to 15,000 crore for people with traditional skills.

Corruption Control

The PM further said that after coming in the ruling power in 2014, the India has reached to 5th position in the global economic system. At the time of UPA government India were at the 10th position in the global economic system. It did not just happen that when the demon of corruption had taken hold of the country, the government stopped it and created a strong economy.

India’s diversity visible at G-20

Today India has got the opportunity to host the G20 Summit. In the past year, the way many G20 events were organized in every corner of India, the world has come to know about the power of the common people of India and the diversity of India.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reached the Red Fort to participate in the event. The main event on Independence Day is being held at the Red Fort in Delhi. During this event, Prime Minister Narendra will address the people of the country for the 10th time from the ramparts of the Red Fort. Earlier, PM Modi reached Rajghat and paid tribute to President Mahatma Gandhi. After this left for the event at Red Fort.

While Defense Minister Rajnath Singh unfurled the tricolour at his residence in Delhi and congratulated the people present for independence, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju also saluted the tricolour at his residence.

Apart from Union Home Minister Amit Shah, other ministers have also reached the Red Fort to attend the Independence Day celebrations.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has tweeted greetings on Independence Day. He has written- “Many best wishes to all of you on Independence Day. Come, on this historic occasion, strengthen the resolve of a developed India in Amritkal. Jai Hind !”

On the other hand, while the agencies are active regarding the security of the capital, the Delhi Police has also tightened the investigation and security in view of the 77th Independence Day celebrations. In view of security, more than 10,000 security personnel have also been deployed across Delhi.

Keeping in view the security, a large number of CCTV cameras for facial recognition have been installed around the Red Fort and other important establishments. Section 144 is applicable around Rajghat, ITO, and Red Fort in view of security.

Highlights of the event

  • A large number of foreign guests are also participating in the Independence Day celebrations organized at the Red Fort. It is being told that 1,800 guests from across the country will also attend the flag-hoisting ceremony.
  • 50 Shram Yogis associated with the Central Vista Project will also be present.
  • 75 couples from each state will be present in their traditional attire.
  • Khadi workers, people who make Amrit Sarovar, road builders on the border, primary school teachers, and fishermen will also be present.
  • Selfie points have been made at 12 places in Lutyens.
  • In the year 2016, PM Modi gave the longest speech 96 minutes at the Red Fort.
  • Prime Minister Modi will hoist the flag for the tenth time.
  • Jawaharlal Nehru holds the record of hoisting the flag a maximum number of times 17 times.
