Kokernag Operation Day 6: Charred Body Of Terrorist Recovered As Combing Of Gadole Forest Continues

Kokernag operation at Gadole forests has entered its 6th day today, on the first day of this operation on 13 September an army colonel, major, and Jammu and Kashmir Police DSP lost their lives.

Speaking on the Kokernag anti-terrorist operation Jammu and Kashmir LG Manoj Sinha said “We have full faith in the bravery and courage of our army, police & central forces. Every drop of blood of our soldiers, innocent civilians will be avenged.”

Sinha was speaking during a function at Kashmir International Conference Centre, he further said “Our brave security personnel from J&K Police and the Army laid down their lives recently while fighting terrorism, I paid a glorious tribute to them and vowed avenge. Terrorists and their sympathizers will have to pay a very heavy price.”

Kokernag operation at Gadole forests has entered its 6th day today, on the first day of this operation on 13 September an army colonel, major, and Jammu and Kashmir Police DSP lost their lives. Another army soldier lost life on the second day of this operation.

Since then only one charred dead body was recovered near the encounter spot yesterday, which is suspected to be of terrorist. The DNA test of the deceased is being conducted to ascertain his identification.

Although there has been no fresh firing and blasts at the operation area since yesterday late afternoon but forces are continuously conducting search and sanitizing operations. The dead body of a soldier which was spotted by a drone hasn’t been recovered yet.

The Kokernag operation is turning out to be the longest anti-terrorist operation being conducted in Kashmir Valley during the past two decades, army and police are using all necessary modern, next-gen equipment during this operation. A Joint command centre has been established near the Gadole forest to monitor the whole operation and top Army Commanders including GOC Northern Command Lt General Upendra Dwivedi and DGP J&K Police Dilbagh Singh visited the operational area.
