In another crime against women incident, a woman was allegedly gang-raped by three men in front of her sons in Karnataka’s Davanagere district. The heinous crime took place in front of her two sons inside a private bus in which she was travelling with her children. The police have arrested all three accused in the case.
Driver, conductor and helper committed the offence
According to an NDTV report, the woman was returning home after visiting from Ucchangidurga temple, located in Harapanahalli. The bus driver, helper, and conductor allegedly gang-raped the woman near Channapura village.
It was alleged that the police initially delayed their response, but after the Vijayanagar SP’s intervention, the victim’s statements were recorded and all three accused were arrested.
Victim was rescued by farmers, passersby
The woman had gone to the temple on March 31 and took the last bus to return home. The driver took the bus to an isolated place and committed the offense. The woman was rescued by farmers and passersby. They informed the police about the incident.
Response of police was not quick
The cops initially did not register a case and reportedly gave the rape victim two thousand rupees and asked her to purchase new clothes as they were torn. The victim spent the night in the temple. The police also let the accused go.
Woman sexually assaulted by two men in Bengaluru
In another incident, a woman was allegedly sexually assaulted by two men in Bengaluru, near Mahadevpur area on April 2, said an official on Thursday.
Taking swift action, the Bengaluru Police arrested the accused for allegedly sexually assaulting the woman while she was going to a hotel for food with her brother.
According to the police, the incident occurred on the outskirts of Mahadevpur police station limits of outer ring road, near Laurie Memorial School when two auto rickshaw drivers attacked the brother of the lady and allegedly raped her.
Both the accused have been arrested by the police and a case has been registered at the Mahadevpur police station.
