Punjabi music composer and lyricist Bunty Bains narrowly avoided an assassination attempt in Mohali, Punjab. The incident occurred while Bains was dining at a restaurant in sector 79 of the city. Unknown assailants fired shots at Bains, who fortunately emerged unharmed. Bains has reported the incident to the police, who are investigating the matter.

In an interview, Bunty Bains shared his terrifying ordeal. He disclosed that after the attack, he received a menacing phone call demanding a ransom of Rs 1 crore. This adds another layer of complexity to the incident, suggesting possible motives beyond a mere assassination attempt.

Bains has played a pivotal role in nurturing the careers of numerous prominent singers, including the late Sidhu Moose Wala. It’s worth mentioning that Bains’ company previously managed Moose Wala’s affairs during his lifetime.
Significantly, Sidhu Moose Wala himself fell victim to a drive-by shooting in May 2022. Gangster Goldy Brar had claimed the responsibility for his murder. This connection raises concerns about potential links between these incidents and organized crime activities in Punjab.
