Uttar Pradesh is going to get a 380-km long expressway that will be connecting Ghaziabad and Kanpur. Uttar Pradesh is the fourth state largest in terms of area wise. The addition of this expressway in the current list of expressway in the state, will benefit the people living there.
The Ghaziabad-Kanpur Expressway will be connecting 9 districts, which includes Ghaziabad, Hapur, Bulandshahr, Aligarh, Kasganj, Farrukhabad, Kannauj and Unnao.
The expressway will enhance connectivity and make the travel easier for the commuters. Not only for the people in these particular districts, but it will benefit people living in Delhi and Noida too. As will save their time too. The route will reduce the travel time of the commuters.
This expressway promotes greenery as it is a greenfield expressway. According to media reports, the industrial centres will also get established here. Initially it will give a four lane route but later on it can be expanded to 6 lanes.
The route will solve the problems related to traffic. It will save time of commuters using this route. It will take just 5 hours 30 minutes to reach Kanpur from Ghaziabad. The northern end of the expressway will get connected to National Highway-9, which is Ghaziabad-Hapur expressway. On the other end the southern portion of the Ghaziabad-Kanpur Expressway will be connected to 62.7-km long Kanpur-Lucknow expressway. Thus this route will benefit the surrounding area of the districts it is crossing.
Initially it was planned to built from Hapur to Kanpur but later on it got changed. A 60-km long route will be made to connect Hapur to the Ghaziabad-Kanpur Expressway.
According to media reports the construction work on the expressway will get completed by 2026.
