Rajasthan BJP candidate Mahant Balaknath emerged victorious from Tijara constituency as the party move towards the triumph.
Balaknath Yogi, contesting from Tijara constituency, secures a significant lead against Congress candidate Imran Khan, affirming his strong stance. The Lok Sabha MP from Alwar and a 40-year-old born in Kohrana Village in Rajasthan, Yogi was anointed as successor by Mahant Chandnath in a ceremony attended by Yogi Adityanath and Baba Ramdev in 2016.
Before the vote count commenced, Yogi visited a Lord Shiva temple, expressing confidence in BJP’s sweeping victory, foreseeing over 120 seats in Rajasthan alone. Identifying the people’s desire to oust Congress, he, akin to Yogi Adityanath, hails from the Nath community and enjoys substantial support in Alwar.
His journey into sannyasa began at the tender age of six, following the family’s decision that he would become a saint. Renamed Gurumukh by Baba Khetanath during his early years, Yogi spent formative years at the Matsyendra Maharaj Ashram, transitioning later to a Math in Nathawali Theri village under Mahant Chandnath’s guidance.
