Domestic Passenger Traffic: DGCA (Directorate General of Civil Aviation) released the latest figures of domestic passenger numbers in the country on Monday. As per the figures, the total number of domestic passengers in India has registered an increase of about 52 percent.

According to DGCA data, from January to November 2022, a total of 1105.10 lakh people traveled by domestic air in the country. At the same time, a total of 726.11 lakh people traveled by air during this period last year. The total number of domestic passengers every month increased by about 11.06 percent.

India reached 48th position

Earlier, DGCA had informed that India has moved up to 48th position in the global aviation safety ranking by the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO). Whereas four years back we were at 102nd position. Singapore is at the top of this ranking. UAE is in second place and South Korea is in third.

Country’s score 85.49 percent

DGCA officials had informed that the ICAO Coordinated Validation Mission was carried out from November 9 to November 16 as part of the continuous monitoring approach of its Universal Safety Oversight audit programme.

It was further informed that the regulator has worked tirelessly to upgrade India’s safety ranking and the results are visible. In terms of effective implementation of safeguards, the country’s score has improved to 85.49 per cent.
