Covid-19 Update: India on Thursday recorded fresh 12,591 Covid-19 cases, taking the number of active infections to 65,286 with 40 deaths recorded in the last 24 hours, according to Union health Ministry. The death toll has increased to 5,31,230 with 40 deaths, which includes 11 reconciled by Kerala, the data updated at 8 am on Thursady stated.
The daily positivity rate was recorded at 5.46 while the weekly positivity rate was pegged at 5.32. The total tally of Covid cases is at 4.48 crore (4,48,08,022).
The active cases now comprise 0.15 per cent of the total infections while the national COVID-19 recovery rate has been recorded at 98.67, according to the ministry website. fatality rate was recorded at 1.18.
10,542 new cases in 24 hours
For the last few days, the country is once again witnessing a spurt in the Covid cases. As compared to yesterday, marginal decline has been recorded in the daily cases in the country on Saturday. Today 10,753 new cases have been reported in the country. During this, 27 deaths have been reported due to Covid infection. Earlier on Friday, 11, 109 new cases were reported in the country while 29 people died. A decline of 356 Covid cases has been registered in the new daily case in the last 24 hours.
