In a strategic move aimed at securing a significant early advantage in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections with a target of securing 370 seats, the BJP has unveiled a list of 195 candidates even prior to the announcement of poll dates. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to contest from Varanasi for the third consecutive time. The list comprises 34 ministers, along with two former chief ministers, and is characterized by the inclusion of 28 women, 47 leaders under the age of 50, and 57 members from the OBC community. Notably, 51 candidates hail from Uttar Pradesh, 20 from West Bengal, and five from Delhi, indicating a strategic focus on key regions.
