Bengaluru: Traffic Police Issues Advisory Ahead Of PM Modi’s Visit

On April 20, 2024, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is slated to visit Bengaluru City from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM as part of his election campaign. To ensure smooth traffic flow during his VVIP visit, the Bengaluru Traffic Police have issued a comprehensive traffic advisory. This advisory includes the prohibition of parking for all vehicles on certain roads and the restriction of heavy goods vehicles from entering the city between 12:00 Noon to 9:00 PM.

Commuters are strongly advised to steer clear of specific roads between 1:00 PM and 7:00 PM, including Palace Road, Jayamahal Road, Mount Carmel College Road, Ramanamaharshi Road, MV Jayaram Road, Tharalabalu Road, and several others. Alternative routes are recommended to minimize traffic congestion during this period.

Furthermore, heavy goods vehicles will face traffic diversions at key junctions such as CMTI Junction, Mysuru Bank Junction, New BEL Junction, and others, throughout the duration of the Prime Minister’s visit.

The main highlight of PM Modi’s itinerary in Bengaluru is his speech at a political assembly set to commence at Bengaluru Palace Grounds at 5:30 PM. Organized by the BJP, this event is expected to draw party members and residents from across the four Bengaluru Lok Sabha constituencies. Additionally, prior to his Bengaluru engagement, PM Modi will address a gathering in Chickballapur at 3:30 PM, catering to attendees from the Chickballapur and Kolar Lok Sabha constituencies. The BJP anticipates a significant turnout of approximately 200,000 for the Bengaluru event and 100,000 for the Chickballapur gathering.
