Mumbai: Expressing concerns over law and order situation in Maharashtra, Shiv Sena leader Aditya Thackeray asked for strict action against Popular Front of India (PFI) functionaries who had raised anti-Indian slogans.

“The government must come down swiftly and hard on those who indulged in pro-Pak slogans,” said Thackeray on Saturday.

“The fact that someone dared to do so, and is yet roaming free, means this is a major law and order failure in Maharashtra,” he added.

In the latest, a series of protests erupted after the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and Enforcement Directorate (ED) carried out nation-wide raids on leaders and office bearers of PFI.

One such protest also took place in Pune city where the ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ slogans were hurled. The police detained several PFI leaders who were involved in the act and arrested them later.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief came down heavily on those who raised Pro-Pakistan slogans.

While the arrests were being made, MNS chief said, these functionaries were shouting slogans about their religion, and reminiscing Pakistan; if such is their mental state, then take your religion and go to Pakistan. Such kind of drama is not going to be tolerated in this country.
