AAP Announces Lok Sabha Candidates For Delhi, Haryana; Somnath Bharti To Contest From New Delhi

Kuldeep Kumar, currently serving as a legislator representing Kondli, has been nominated by the party to contest the East Delhi Lok Sabha seat. Somnath Bharti, who represents Malviya Nagar in the assembly, will be AAP's candidate for the New Delhi constituency. Sahi Ram Pahalwan, the legislator from Tughlakabad, has been selected as AAP's candidate for the South Delhi seat. Meanwhile, Mahabal Mishra, a former Congress Member of Parliament, has been nominated for the West Delhi constituency.

AAP Announces Lok Sabha Candidates For Delhi, Haryana

On Tuesday, the Aam Aadmi Party revealed its candidates for the Lok Sabha elections 2024 in Delhi and Haryana. In Delhi, AAP nominated Kuldeep Kumar for East Delhi, Somnath Bharti for New Delhi, Sahi Ram Pehelwan for South Delhi, and Mahabal Mishra for West Delhi. Meanwhile, Sushil Gupta from AAP will run for the Kurukshetra seat in Haryana.

AAP Candidates For Lok Sabha Elections

Who Will Be Contesting For Haryana? 

Former Rajya Sabha member Sushil Kumar Gupta will be contesting for the Kurukshetra Lok Sabha seat in Haryana.

AAP leader Sandeep Pathak, alongside Delhi minister Atishi, announced the candidates during a press conference, highlighting the primary criterion of “winnability” in their selection process. He emphasized the nominees’ accessibility and active engagement with the public in their respective areas.

Who Took The Decision? 

The decision was reached following a meeting of the AAP’s Political Affairs Committee, chaired by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, the party’s highest decision-making body.
