Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan is currently undergoing emergency surgery at Lilavati Hospital after being injured during an alleged house break-in at his Mumbai residence in the early hours of Thursday. The actor was rushed to the hospital by his son, Ibrahim Ali Khan, and a household helper.

Injuries Sustained In the Attack
Dr. Niraj Uttamani, the Chief Operating Officer of Lilavati Hospital, confirmed that Saif Ali Khan was attacked by an intruder at his residence. He was admitted to the hospital at around 3:30 am. Dr. Uttamani reported that Saif has sustained six injuries in total, two of which are deeper. Notably, one of the injuries is located close to his spine, and another is on his neck, which is currently under evaluation.
A hospital source, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, revealed that a piece of a knife was found embedded in Saif’s body. While the extent of the damage is still being assessed, the good news is that the actor is able to move his limbs, indicating that his spine appears unharmed.
Emergency Surgery Underway
A team of expert doctors, including Neurosurgeon Dr. Nitin Dange, Cosmetic Surgeon Dr. Leena Jain, and Anaesthetist Dr. Nisha Gandhi, is performing the surgery. According to Dr. Uttamani, the surgery began at 5:30 am and was still ongoing at 8:30 am. The doctors have assured that they will be able to determine the full extent of the injuries once the procedure is completed.
Details Of The Attack
The incident occurred in the apartment complex in Bandra West where Saif Ali Khan and his wife, actress Kareena Kapoor, live with their two sons, Taimur and Jeh. Police reports indicate that the intruder allegedly entered the house around 2:30 am. It remains unclear whether Saif was injured during a scuffle with the intruder or was stabbed during the break-in.

The intruder fled the scene after the family members woke up. The Bandra police have initiated an investigation, and a few police teams are working to track down the culprit. An FIR is expected to be registered soon.
