New Delhi: Black Adam, one of the most awaited superhero flick of the DC Extended Universe opened in India on Thursday. Dwayne Johnson donned the superhero suit for the franchise. Meanwhile, Black Adam managed to secure a decent opening, being a non-holiday, mid-week release in India. The movie will release On Friday in the US and other countries.
Black Adam collects 6-7 Cr nett in its opening day in India
Dwayne Johnson starrer Black Adam managed to earn a decent amount of Rs. 6.5 Cr in India. The three leading multiplex chains contributed total nett sales of Rs. 4 cr. Although the numbers are quite low as compared to other MCU movies, the Dwayne Johnson factor has made Indian audience to watch the film.

Meanwhile, if we look back at other MCU releases, The Batman (2022) was a huge hit at the box office with a collection of Rs. 7 cr nett in the opening day. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Thor: Love and Thunder made Rs 27.5 crore and Rs 18.6 crore on their first days, respectively. Last year, Spider Man: No Way Home secured Rs 32 Cr nett on its opening day.
Another barrier to Black Adam’s box office collection might be the Diwali pan-India releases and also the India-Pakistan T20 World Cup match scheduled on Sunday. Given the circumstances, the movie’s second day advance seems quite low. It will be interesting to see how the superhero flick performs during the weekend.

Directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, the film has been made on a reported budget of $200 million. Black Adam also features Aldis Hodge, Noah Centineo, Marwan Kenzari, Quintessa Swindell and Pierce Brosnan.
Meanwhile, the movie has received a mixed review from the audiences and critics.
