CBSE Board 2023: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is conducting the CBSE Class 12 Chemistry Exam 2023 tomorrow, February 28, 2023. Candidates will attend the exam tomorrow morning from 10.30 am to 1.30 pm for 3 hours.

CBSE released sample papers of all subjects last year. The sample paper for the Chemistry subject is available on the official website — cbse.gov.in — As per the sample paper, the exam will have 25 questions with internal choice.

CBSE Board 2023: Chemistry Marking Scheme

  • There will be a total of 5 sections – Section A consists of 18 multiple choice questions each carrying 1 mark, Section B consists of 7 very short answer type questions for 2 marks each, Section C consists of 5 short answer type questions for 3 marks each, Section D consists of 2 case-based questions for 4 marks each and finally section E consists of 3 long answer type questions for 5 marks each. It is compulsory to answer all the questions.
  • For Section A, candidates need to choose one correct answer for Section A.
  • For section B, assume the question is the OH group in glucose or what happens when D – glucose is treated with the following reagents – Bromine water and HNO 3 – If you choose the first one you need to reason why glucose is a reducing sugar and OH group but if you choose second then you need to explain in 2-3 lines
  • For section C, explain the answer in lines 5-6, while for section D assume that a segment of DNA contains 100 adenine and 150 cytosine bases. What is the total number of nucleotides present in this section of DNA – explain the equation
  • Section E is of 5 marks so suppose 3 sub-questions are asked in one big question and one of them asks equation, write the formula properly and also explain it.
