Schools Closed In Noida, GZB: In view of severe cold and fog, Noida and Ghaziabad administration have ordered the closure of all schools in the city from nursery to class VIII till January 14, 2024. However, the schools will remain open for the students of class 9 to class 12 and the timings will be 10 am to 3 pm during this period in Noida.

Precautionary Measures in Place

In response to severe weather conditions, schools in Noida and Greater Noida have been directed to remain closed for students up to Class 8 until January 14. District Basic Education Officer Rahul Panwar issued an official order, encompassing schools affiliated with various boards such as the state board, CBSE, ICSE, IB, and others.

Weather-Driven Decision

The directive stemmed from District Magistrate Maneesh Kumar Verma’s instructions, driven by concerns over dense fog and extreme cold. The decision prioritizes the safety and well-being of the students given the current weather conditions.

Modified Schedule for Senior Classes

District Inspector of Schools (DIOS) Dharmveer Singh clarified that classes for students in Classes 9-12 will proceed from 10 am to 3 pm during this period. This alteration aims to balance educational continuity while considering the challenges posed by the harsh weather.

Ghaziabad School Closure Notice

In Ghaziabad, schools have commenced their winter vacation, scheduled from December 31, 2023, to January 14, 2024. Please note that schools are set to reopen on January 15, 2024. Any updates regarding an extension of the winter break will be communicated here promptly.

Challenging Weather Ahead

Gautam Buddh Nagar experienced a minimum temperature of 9 degrees Celsius on Saturday, according to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD). Forecasts suggest temperatures ranging between 9 and 13 degrees Celsius over the next six days, indicating continued challenging weather conditions.
