Noida: The Employees State Insurance Corporation Hospital in Sector-24, Noida, has recently introduced a chemotherapy facility for cancer patients. Currently, the facility is available for patients in the early stages of cancer. However, in the near future, serious patients will also be eligible to receive chemotherapy treatment at the hospital. Prior to this, the ESIC administration used to refer patients to private hospitals for such treatment.

The Sector 24 ESIC Hospital has a significant number of people and their dependents associated with it. Unfortunately, due to the insufficient facilities for treating serious diseases, patients were being referred to Faridabad ESIC Medical College or private hospitals for treatment. This resulted in more than 10 cancer patients requiring treatment every day, and they were sent to private hospitals in Noida and Ghaziabad.

The process of moving sick patients from one place to another posed several difficulties, despite ESIC covering the bills for treatment in private hospitals. However, with the recent establishment of the chemotherapy facility at Sector 24 ESIC Hospital, it is expected that such challenges will be alleviated, providing better and more convenient treatment options for the patients.

The ESIC headquarters has issued instructions to offer free facilities within the hospital premises. To achieve this, two doctors have been appointed and trained to be available in the OPD during specific hours. These doctors will cater to patients undergoing chemotherapy as well as those whose chemotherapy has not yet started, ensuring they receive the required treatment conveniently at the hospital.
