Ganpati Visarjan: Mumbai Traffic Police Issues Advisory, Full List of Routes to Avoid

Ganpati Visarjan: To avoid any untoward incident, more than 11,000 police officers is deployed across the city. Commuters are advised to strategically plan their travels to steer clear of potential traffic bottlenecks.

Mumbai Ganpati Visarjan: In a bid to ensure smooth traffic flow,  a special advisory has been issued in Mumbai to curtail potential disruptions during the Ganpati Visarjan (immersion process). An official statement by Mumbai traffic police said that traffic will be restricted in the central area, particularly on Dr. Annie Besant Marg in Worli, which will transform the entire stretch into a one-way southbound route.

Similarly, on NM Joshi Marg, the traffic flow from Shingle Master Chowk to Bharatmata Junction will be halted ahead of the Raja of Lalbaugh’s arrival on BA Road, which is a northbound route near Bharatmata Junction.

In South Mumbai, specifically within the jurisdiction of the Colaba traffic division, three crucial roadways will be designated as ‘No Parking’ zones, with the exception of emergency vehicles. These affected routes are Nathalal Parekh Marg, Captain Prakash Pethe Marg, and Rambhau Salgaonkar Marg. Motorists are requested to follow the detour signs that will be clearly marked along these roads. It is expected that there will be considerable traffic congestion in the Cuffe Parade and Badhwar Park areas during the Ganpati Visarjan.

Meanwhile, the movement of heavy vehicles excluding essential services, in Mumbai city from 11 am to 1 am. However, essential vehicles such as those carrying vegetables, milk, bread, water, fuel, and ambulances are exempt from this restriction to ensure vital services continue during this time.

On the other hand, several roads across the city will remain shut to facilitate the smooth conduct of Ganpati Visarjan. These roads include:

  • Nathalal Parekh Marg
  • CSMT Junction to Metro Junction
  • J. S. S. Road
  • Rambhau Salgaokar Marg
  • Vitthalbhai Patel Marg
  • Rajaram Mohan Roy Road
  • Cawasji Patel Tank Road
  • Babasaheb Jaykar Marg
  • Sant Sena Marg
  • Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Road
  • Nanubhai Desai Road
  • Dadasaheb Bhadkamkar Marg
  • Pandita Ramabai Marg
  • Walkeshwar Road
  • Jagannath Shankarsheth Marg
