The incident took place in Faridpur, located in the Bareilly district. According to the victim’s mother, her daughter was playing outside their house. When she didn’t return home for a while, they began searching for her. When they found her at a neighboring house, they were shocked to witness a 60-year-old man named Sher Mohammad attempting to assault her. He proceeded to sexually assault the daughter. When the commotion alerted others, the accused fled the scene.

Instead of offering help and support, the mother was asked for two hundred rupees, which added to her distress. She brought her crying daughter to the police station, where they were directed to the women’s help desk at the gate. Shockingly, it’s claimed that the female constable at the desk demanded two hundred rupees, further exacerbating the situation.

Police In-Charge Involved 

Upon sharing the woman constable’s actions at the police station, chaos ensued, leading to the involvement of Police Station In-Charge Dayashankar. He inquired about the incident from the victim’s mother, who then provided a written complaint detailing how the accused lured her daughter with the promise of candy before sexually assaulting her. An FIR was filed against the accused, and the police initiated a search for him as he had gone into hiding.

The innocent child’s mother described her daughter as covered in blood and unconscious since the incident. The police promptly transported her to the district hospital upon seeing her condition. In response to the allegations against the female constable, Inspector Faridpur Dayashankar explained that when the constable was called, she had already finished her duty, and an investigation is underway to address the allegations against her.

Based on the complaint letter, an FIR has been lodged against the accused under the sections of Rape and the POCSO Act, and efforts are being made to apprehend him as soon as possible. Simultaneously, investigations are ongoing regarding the allegations against the female constable.
