After the video gained widespread attention, the Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) issued a statement. He explained that people should not be sleeping on the platform, as it is not meant for that purpose. Waiting rooms have been designated for passengers who need to rest while waiting for trains. The DRM also stated that the cleaning staff involved had been counseled about their behaviour.
Social media users had mixed reactions to the incident. One user pointed out that people often criticize the station’s cleanliness and take issue with those sleeping on the platform but fail to consider the humane approach in such situations.
Another comment stated that while it’s important to keep the platform clean, there is a more appropriate way to handle such situations, and throwing water on people is unjustifiable.
