Hyderabad: A shocking incident unfolded in Jawahar Nagar area, Hyderabad, where a woman was stripped naked on the road by a man, with his mother nearby, in a distressing display of public humiliation.
The incident, which took place around 8:30 pm, was captured on CCTV cameras and has since gone viral on social media, inciting widespread outrage.
The victim, returning from a local clothes shop around 8 pm on Sunday, was subjected to inappropriate touching by the accused. Upon her objection, the situation escalated as the man became aggressive, forcibly stripping her naked and tearing her clothes.

Shockingly, the accused’s mother was present at the scene but reportedly did not intervene to stop her son’s reprehensible actions.
A passerby attempted to intervene, but was also confronted by the accused. Prompt police action led to the arrest of the accused, identified as Peddamaraiah.
The incident occurred under the influence of alcohol, as the accused was in an inebriated state at the time.
The victim reportedly lay exposed on the road for a period, before fellow women came to her aid, covering her with a blue plastic sheet.
This disturbing episode not only highlights the dire need for ensuring women’s safety but also raises questions about bystander intervention and the overall environment of accountability and respect.
A case has been filed against the accused under sections 354(B), 323, 506 r/w 34, with the mother also facing legal action for her failure to intervene.
This incident occurs just months after another incident in Manipur, further emphasizing the urgent need to address and prevent such horrifying episodes.
