Hyderabad: An incident took place at a shopping mall in Hyderabad where a three-year-old girl lost her three fingers after getting stuck in a joyride machine. The case was registered against the mall.
The incident took place at the city centre mall, Banjara Hills, on Sunday evening. After the incident occurred, the girl was rushed to the nearby Yashoda Hospital. Doctors said they could not save Mehwish Lubna’s fingers.
The girl from Ibrahimnagar was having fun with her two siblings in the Smash Zone, a play area on the mall’s fourth floor. The youngsters accompanied their mother to the mall. According to her father, the backside door of the ride machine, which conceals the internal elements of the equipment, was left open, and her right hand three fingers and the tip of her left-hand index finger were crushed. Lubna’s parents filed a complaint at the Banjara Hills police station against the mall management and Smash Zone, accusing them of gross negligence.
A case was filed against the mall under Section 337 (negligence) of the IPC, and after the medical report is received, the section will be notified to Section 338 of the IPC, according to the police.
