Noida: A plan has been prepared to run the world’s longest-route pod taxi in Greater Noida, UP. This will be the longest project at around 14.6 km, which will connect Noida Airport, Sector-21, and Noida International Film City. The Yamuna Authority has sent the revised report on pod taxis to the government.
According to the report of the Indian Port Rail and Ropeway Corporation Limited (IPRRCL), the proposed rapid transit (PRT) project in the Yamuna expressway sector will probably be the longest in the world. 810 crore will be spent on preparing this project. Pod Taxi will connect Film City to Noida Jewar Airport. More than 30 thousand passengers will be able to travel by pod taxi every day.
12 stations will be built, which include Sector-29, Handicraft Park, MSME Park, Apparel Park, Sector-32, Sector-33, Toy Park, Sector-21, etc. The length of this corridor will be 14.6 kilometres. Pod taxis will come in two phases. About 146 pod taxis will be purchased in the first phase. In the second phase, 799 pod taxis will be purchased. This project will be completed in two years.
A 4- to 6-seater automatic vehicle A pod taxi will run at a maximum speed of 40 kilometres per hour without a driver. In a pod taxi, 8 passengers will travel while sitting and 13 passengers will travel standing. Its fare can be fixed at Rs. 8 per kilometre.
