Ratlam: At least four people were killed and 13 others injured after a speeding car, which reportedly lost control, ran over people working on the roadside in Madhya Pradesh’s Ratlam.
According to reports, the speeding car trampled the laborers working on the roadside near village Jamuniya on the Mhow-Neemuch highway, which is about 18 km from the Ratlam district.
Hindi daily Naidunia reports that 4 laborers died on spot while 13 others were injured in the accident.
Among the injured, eight laborers are residents of Aligarh and Bulandshahr in Uttar Pradesh and five were those travelling in the car.
The nearby people reached the spot and sent the dead and injured to the district hospital in a loading vehicle.
Upon receiving the information Ratlam collector and Ratlam Superintendent of Police reached the district hospital.
It is alleged that the accident happened because of the driver’s sleep and ultimately losing control of the vehicle.
The actual cause of the accident is being investigated.
