Big News! Noida’s Glitzy New Film City To Feature Bollywood Stars’ Luxury Villas, Outdoor Sets And University

The project is proposed to be built on 1,000 acres, with the first phase covering 230 acres, at a cost of Rs 1,510 crore over eight years.

Noida: Uttar Pradesh is gearing up for its second film city, which will be developed in Sector 21 on Yamuna Expressway, 4 km from Noida International Airport.  The development of ‘International Film City’ has been approved by the Uttar Pradesh Government.

Following the development of Noida International Airport near Jewar, the region is inclined to witness various growth opportunities and advancements in the coming years. In this regard, the development of a Film City was proposed in Sector 21 in YEIDA region. For this, a land parcel of approx. 1,000 acres has been identified.

One-Stop Shop For Filmmakers Says Boney Kapoor

In this area, villas for actors, studios, outdoor sets and a university to train technicians will be built in the first phase of the project.

‘Hindustan Times’ quoted filmmaker Boney Kapoor who said that the upcoming film city will be a one-stop shop for filmmakers worldwide, offering facilities at nearly half the cost as compared to other studio.

As per the authorities, Boney Kapoor, along with his representative had met Yamuna Authority CEO, Arun Vir Singh on December 24. He had submitted a master plan to YEIDA for approval. The plan consisted of the layout for the Film City project’s first phase spread across 230 acres.

As per reports, after the approval of the plan, the construction work will begin at the site from next month. YEIDA CEO also assured that they will approve the layout soon as building film city is one of the priorities of the authorities.

Talking about his master plan, Boney Kapoor said, “We are ready to lay the foundation stone of the project and begin construction work in January, 2025 after our master plan is approved.”

To Feature Luxury Villas

He added that studios, villas for actors, outdoor sets and a university to train technicians will be developed under phase I. “While many film cities have been built in the country, one of them has achieved full success. Having shot several films at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad and various other studios, including ND Studio in Mumbai, I have firsthand experience of what works and what doesn’t. I am committed to making this venture a success.”

Notably, Bayview Projects LLP, the joint venture of Boney Kapoor and Bhutani Group, had secured the contract of developing project by submitting the highest bid with an 18 per cent gross revenue share.
