New Delhi: Rashtrapati Bhavan will open for public visits six days a week from next month. This is the first time Rashtrapati Bhavan will open six days a week, as it was previously used to open five days a week, excluding Mondays and Tuesdays.
Except on gazetted holidays, tours of the Rashtrapati Bhavan will be accessible from Tuesday through Sunday, with seven-time slots between 9:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. The Rashtrapati Bhavan Museum Complex will also be open to visitors from Tuesday through Sunday.
Visitors can observe the Change of Guard Ceremony on the forecourt of Rashtrapati Bhavan every Saturday from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m., according to officials at the President’s Secretariat. The ceremony is not held on Saturdays if it falls on a gazetted holiday or if Rashtrapati Bhavan is advised of extraordinary circumstances. It’s worth noting that no new parts of the President’s Estate have been made available to the public. Visitors must reserve their slots online through the official website.
The complex’s route is separated into three circuits. Circuit 1 features Rashtrapati Bhavan’s main edifice and central lawn, as well as significant rooms such as Ashok Hall, Durbar Hall, Banquet Hall and drawing rooms. Circuit 2 includes a tour of the Rashtrapati Bhavan Museum Complex, while Circuit 3 includes a visit to Rashtrapati Bhavan’s famed gardens, which include Amrit Udyan, Herbal Garden, Musical Garden, and Spiritual Garden.
