Bengaluru: On August 18, a 21-year-old Bengaluru student was allegedly raped by an unknown biker who offered her lift, Senior Police Officer Raman Gupta said. The girl was returning home late night to Hebbagodi after a get-together party in Koramangala when the incident took place.
Authorities have identified a main suspect in connection to the case and police investigations are underway to track down the suspect. Mr. Gupta told reporters that a rape case has been registered against the accused biker man and five investigation teams have been formed to inquire the incident.
Mr. Gupta informed that they went to the spot and spoke to the victim and her close ones to gather more information. He said, “Our investigations are going on and the criminal will be arrested soon.” He assured that efforts are being made and the perpetrator will not be spared at any cost.

As per preliminary report, the incident took place near Hosur Main Road between 1.00 and 1.30 am late night on Sunday, under the HSR Layout Police Station limits.
Additional Commissioner, Raman Gupta said the biker took the victim to an isolated place and raped her, instead of dropping her home. The victim is currently admitted to a private hospital and is undergoing treatment. She is in stable condition now.
