New Delhi: Major Accident averted on Wednesday morning at Delhi Airport as the two Vistara airline flights were given nod for take off along with the landing at the same time, while it was prevented as the Air Traffic Control (ATC) aborted the take-off of the flight UK725.
Vistara airline flight UK725 was heading towards Bagdogra from the national capital.
The recently inaugurated runway granted clearance for the Vistara Delhi-Bagdogra flight to commence takeoff. Meanwhile, another Vistara flight, inbound from Ahmedabad to Delhi, had just landed on a parallel runway and was gradually approaching the runway’s end.
“Both the Vistara flight were given permission by the authorities at the same time following which ATC took control immediately. The official of the ATC instantly contacted the Vistara flight and asked to abort take-off,” an official, privy to the development informed.
