New Delhi: Benchmark indices jumped into the positive region after an hour of trading in the red and maintained their gains the rest of the day. The S&P BSE Sensex finished at 58,410, up 491 points or 0.85% from its intraday high of 58,449.

Meanwhile, the Nifty50 index finished the day up 126 points, or 0.73 percent, at 17,312. During the day, the index reached a high of 17,328. SBI, NTPC, RIL, ICICI Bank, Bajaj Auto, SBI Life, Axis Bank, Bajaj Finserv, Dr Reddy’s Labs, IndusInd Bank, Maruti Suzuki, HUL, and Hero MotoCorp were the companies that saw the most increases in the benchmark indices.

Sectorally, the Nifty PSU Bank index rose by 3.6%, the Nifty Bank index rose by 1.6%, and the Nifty Financial Services and Private Bank index all increased.

The Nifty SmallCap index increased by 0.5 percent, while the Nifty MidCap index increased by 0.24 percent in the overall market. Due to this, the market’s breadth was often somewhat in favour of sellers.
