They pinned high expectation on the upcoming budget 2023. This is all the government intends to do in response to employee union demands.
According to AICPI data, government employees’ Dearness Allowance is increased twice a year, in January and July. According to the inflation graph, it appears that central employees’ dearness allowance (DA Hike) may increase by up to 3% this year.
There is also the issue of employees’ DA arrears from January 2020 to June 2021, which the government has yet to issue. Employee unions are constantly requesting that the government release the arrears. According to the most recent update, the government may soon decide on pending arrears of 18 months.

There is also some concern about raising the fitment factor. Earlier reports suggested that the government might give this as a New Year’s bonus.
According to the most recent update, the government intends to raise the fitment factor after Budget 2023. Employees are demanding that the government increase the fitment factor from 2.6 percent to 3.7 percent.
If this is done, the salaries of the personnel will skyrocket. According to experts, the basic pay will rise to Rs 26,000 from Rs 18,000. For those who are unaware, the government last increased the fitment factor in 2016.
