After years of keeping the car enthusiasts in India waiting, Volkswagen has finally decided to bring the new Golf as well as the Id.4 to India. As per the recent news updates its seems that the brand would bring the car models in India through the Homologation free Import Route.
Volkswagen Golf Performance Specs
The car would be powered by a 2.0 Litre Four cylinder Turbo engine that churns out the max output of around 265 BHP with a peak torque output of around 370 Nm. In the global market the engine is partnered with a 7 speed DCT gearbox that powers the front wheels.
Volkswagen Golf Performance Upgrades
Rather than the simple electronic steering unit, the golf comes with a progressive steering. This means that the vehicle has a Variable Rack and Pinon steering that changes its geometry and provides better feel of the road to the driver. Beyond that the vehicle would also have Electronically Controlled Front Axle differential Lock as well as an Optional Adaptive Suspension.
Golf Pricing
The car would be in a segment of its own , considering the limited numbers in which the car would be imported. As of yet its believed that the car would be priced around 40 lakh Rs. It would compete against the likes of Mini Cooper S, as well as the Octavia RS if Skoda plans to unveil it in January.
Volkswagen ID.4
As per reports Volkswagen had already showcased the new and updated ID.4 in India in a Brand Conference. While Volkswagen had quashed their plans to bring the new ID.4 in India earlier it seems that the brand might launch the vehicle soon at the Bharat Mobility Expo.
The ID.4 could be Volkswagen’s first electric vehicle in India, and it could be the most expensive Volkswagen currently on sale in India. The Car is built on the MEB platform and is globally available with a 52KWH as well as a 77KWH Battery pack. The car offers around 340km to 500 km range on a single charge.
