The recent release of the Hyundai Creta EV has disclosed a lot about the new vehicle and its features. While the range as well as the battery pack have been revealed by the Manufacturer, here are a few details that are still unclear about the new launch.

Active Flaps, Necessary for Aero or Something Else?

The biggest issue with EV cars has been the the drop in range with increase in temperature of the battery. This has been a constant issue with EV vehicles in the nation. Range drop due to temperature rise has impacted the opinion users have had about the EV vehicles. But to combat the same situation Hyundai has taken a profound step. The New Creta EV has been fitted with Active Flaps that would open up as the temperature of the motor and the battery pack rises. The active aero would enable the vehicle to cool down the motor without any issues and keep the range of the vehicle intact.

Better air management would enable the car to upkeep its range promise. Its apparent that EV’s are powered by Batteries. Batteries obtain their energy through chemical reactions, the efficacy of which gets hampered when the temperature rises beyond a certain degree. Even in extreme cold batteries loose their charge. Manufacturers often use air management systems to manage such issues and similar is the case with Hyundai as well.

The lack of Information About The Charger and Fast Charging Capabilities’

Hyundai has been moot about the kind of charging prowess the New Creta EV Would have. As per the new trailer no details have been disclosed about what kind of charging ports would the vehicle have. Fast charging is a important piece of equipment that makes EV ownership easier in India, although its possible that all the variants of the Hyundai EV would have fast charging, Hyundai has not yet disclosed any official information about it.

The Battery Pack Capacity

To increase the range manufacturers often provide the vehicles with bigger battery packs, but bigger the battery pack the greater would be the time to charge up the vehicle fully. Beyond that the charger provided by the manufacturers often only support the vehicle charging at home with AC connections. Hyundai Creta EV has not been revealed yet. For a comparison, the charger that is supplied with the Nexon EV charges the vehicle in 8 to 9 hours for a range of 426 km. Similar would be the expected time of charge for the Hyundai Creta EV as well.

Maybe in future Hyundai would reveal about the variants and which one of the them would have fast charging capabilities.
