New Delhi: Tata Motors launched its entry-level hatchback car Tiago in the electric version some time back. Whose ex-showroom price was kept between Rs 8.49 lakh to Rs 11.49 lakh. Although the company called it an introductory price. Now the company is going to increase the price of this car. This car can be expensive up to ₹ 35,000.
As the company had told at the time of launching this car that the car will be given only to the first 10,000 customers at the introductory price. This car is getting good response from the market and more than 20 thousand units have been booked. In view of which the company had extended the introductory price to the first 20,000 people.
What is the reason?
According to media reports, Shailesh Chandra, Director General of Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles and Tata Passengers Electric Mobility, has informed that this increase has not been done only because of the introductory prices, but a major reason for this is the 30-35 percent reduction in battery prices. There has to be an increase, the burden of which cannot be completely put on the customers.
How much range do you get?
The Tata Tiago EV comes in two battery pack options of 19.2kWh and 24kWh. Which is capable of generating 74 bhp power and 114 Nm torque and 61 bhp power and 110 Nm torque respectively with the electric motor. This car can achieve speed of 0 to 60 kmph in 5.7 seconds.
