Royal Enfield Classic 350 vs Meteor 350: Performance

Powering both Royal Enfield Classic 350 and Royal Enfield Meteor 350 is the same 349cc single-cylinder, air/oil-cooled engine mated to a five-speed gearbox. This powerplant is capable enough to churn out 21bhp of maximum power and 27Nm of peak torque. Although engine performance is identical on both motorcycles, the Meteor 350 feels more responsive and dynamic, in terms of acceleration and torque riding through the gears.

Suspension, Braking, and Ergonomics

As for the suspension, both motorcycles carry the same hardware. Both models feature a 41mm telescopic fork with 130mm travel at the front and twin shock absorbers with 90mm travel at the rear. For braking duties, there are 300mm discs at the front and 270mm discs at the rear. Weighing 195kg, the Classic 350 is heavier as compared to the Meteor 350, while the latter weighs 191kg.

Parking the Classic 350 is therefore more problematic than the Meteor 350. It’s not as easy to maneuver and push around the Classic 350, and it’s also more challenging to get it on the center stand. On the other hand, the Meteor 350 is easier to use, whether you’re riding through the city traffic or pushing the motorcyle while seated. The Meteor 350 has a lower seat height as compared to the Classic 350, making it suitable for different customers.

If you can handle a heavy machine, you can go for the Classic considering its budget-friendliness, powerful performance and iconic looks. Also Read: Royal Enfield Meteor 350 – Blending Retro Aesthetics With High-End Performance
