New Delhi: Mahindra has launched the new XUV300 TurboSport in India with prices ranging from Rs 10.35 lakh-12.90 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The new 1.2-litre T-GDi turbo petrol engine is the most powerful powerplant available in XUV300, beating the existing 1.2 turbo petrol and 1.5 diesel engines. This new engine was available in three higher trims of the XUV300 – W6, W8 and W8(O).

Mahindra XUV300 TurboSport: Powerful engine

The XUV300 TurboSport derives its power from a 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol unit producing 130 PS, 230 Nm (250 Nm with overboost), which is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox.

Compared to the existing 1.2-litre MPFI turbo petrol engine, the new engine features a 250 bar GDI (Gasoline Direct Injection) fuel system that improves performance and fuel economy. Mahindra claims acceleration from 0-60 km/h in 5 seconds with the XUV300 TurboSport.

The XUV300 also has a mild-hybrid start-stop system to further improve fuel economy and reduce CO2 emissions, and Mahindra claims this new engine has a fuel consumption of 18.2 kpl.

This new engine produces 20bhp and 30Nm more than the older 110bhp 1.2-litre turbo petrol, making the XUV300 the most powerful compact SUV in its class. Both turbo petrol engines will co-exist with a 1.5 liter 115 hp diesel engine.

Mahindra XUV300 TurboSport: Design, Interior and Features

In terms of design, the front fascia received a new gloss black radiator grille with red inserts, while the chrome elements on the central air intake on the front bumper were brought out in red. It also has Mahindra’s new Twin Peaks logo and tinted wing mirrors.

Mahindra is also offering four new color variants, including two-tone bronze with black roof, white with black roof and black with white roof, along with bronze as a monotone variant.

Inside, the two-tone black and beige interior theme has been swapped for all-black, which contrasts with silver accents on the dashboard, center console and steering wheel. It also has new chrome pedals.
